Following the establishment of the Tema branch of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in 2005, the branch went into a period of low activity, which caused members to become disinterested and to switch to other branches, or to stop their membership.
As such, and in order to restore some vibrance into its activities, a new interim executive committee have been sworn in on March 5, 2010, in an event that was chaired by the national president of CILT (Ghana) at the GPHA Clubhouse at Comm. 6, Tema. After its original trial of six months and following positive review from the branch members, the executive committee was reconfirmed for a tenancy of two years. In March 2011, the executive committee added two executive members to its recently created Marketing Drive Coordinator position, to make up the present team of eight members.
Since its initial appointment, the branch have regularly held a series of successful CPD sessions, in addition to field trips to the Dodi Island that were regarded as highly successful
Currently, CILT (Ghana) - Tema is working on additional CPDs and on its flag project, the 'End of Year' Logistics Award, with promising results so far and a lot of new ideas that are guaranteed to propulse transport and logistics industry to new heights.
