The Borderless Alliance recently held its first annual conference at the Golf Hotel, Cote d'Ivoire, May 15-16, with the participation of more than 170 regional trade and transport stakeholders.
The event was co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce - Cote d'Ivoire and the Export Promotion Agency (APEX-CI), as well as the West Africa Trade Hub. It feautures a series of technical brfeakout sessions that discussed various aspects of regional trade and transport and highlighted action plans and priorities for the stakeholders and included a dialogue between various public and private stakeholders.
During the conference, the members of the Borderless Alliance elected a seven-member executive committee and nominated Mr. Ziad Hamoui of Tarzan Enterprise Ltd. (Ghana) as their president for a two-year period, in addition to a 1st Vice-President (Mr. Will Krofah, Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce and Industries) and a 2nd Vice-President ( Mrs. Kadiatou Ouattara, COPRA - Cote d'Ivoire).
The Borderless Alliance will begin implementing a region-wide plan to advocate the removal of trade and transport barriers in West Africa and contribute to increasing regional integration. For more information about joining the alliance and related issues, visit their website at www.borderlesswa.com
